Stephanie A. Collins

Stephanie A. Collins represents private and public employers in employment litigation and advises employers on human resources issues. She has litigated numerous cases involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, retaliation and other employment-related claims in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration, mediation and agency proceedings.

Ms. Collins has significant experience advising clients on the full range of employment issues arising in the workplace, including discipline, terminations, layoffs, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, reductions in force, investigations of employee misconduct, handling privacy issues and responding to government agency inquiries. She is particularly knowledgeable concerning leaves of absence, disability discrimination, and disability accommodation issues. Ms. Collins assists clients in developing human resources policies and in training managers and employees on harassment, discrimination, and performance management.

Ms. Collins was recently named a Rising Star in the field of Employment Law by Law & Politics Magazine, meaning that her peers in the Southern California legal community voted her among the top 2½ percent of young employment lawyers.

After receiving her B.A., cum laude, from UC San Diego in 1994, Ms. Collins earned her law degree from UCLA in 1997. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Collins was an Associate in the labor and employment section of Jones Day for nine years. She is a member of the California and Los Angeles County Bar Associations, and the Labor & Employment Section of the County Bar. Ms. Collins is also a member of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
