S. Shane Sagheb
S. Shane Sagheb represents employers in California employment and wage and hour class actions, as well as single-plaintiff employment litigation. These disputes have included claims for wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, and failure to pay wages. Shane also represents clients in actions alleging misappropriation of trade secrets and other forms of unfair competition. He has succeeded at all levels of the litigation process, including pre-trial summary judgment and class decertification motions, as well as trials and appeals.
In addition to litigating cases in state and federal court and in arbitration, Shane represents employers in proceedings before government agencies such as the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the Occupational Safety and Health Appeals Board. He also counsels clients on issues related to employee discipline and the development and implementation of personnel policies and employment agreements. Shane has represented employers in a wide range of industries, such as armored transportation, moving and storage, garment manufacturing, talent representation, pharmacy, commercial landscaping, mortgage banking, fitness, retail and construction.
Prior to joining SANCHEZ & AMADOR, Shane practiced with some of the most highly regarded law firms in the country, including O’Melveny & Myers and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Shane was a partner in the Labor & Employment group of Winston & Strawn. Shane is a member of the American, California and Los Angeles County Bar Associations and their litigation and labor and employment sections. He is admitted to practice in all California courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and each federal district court in California. Shane speaks regularly on various employment-related issues.
Shane also is active in pro bono legal representation. His pro bono activities were instrumental in Winston & Strawn receiving the Disability Rights Legal Center’s prestigious 2009 Pro Bono Counsel of the Year award. After receiving a B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1980, Shane earned his J.D., cum laude, in 1983 from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
