Felicia A. Starr has more than twelve years experience defending
employers in state and federal court and agency proceedings. In
addition, she advises management in all areas of employment law,
including wrongful discharge, race, age, religious, gender and
disability discrimination and harassment.
Ms. Starr has been particularly successful obtaining summary judgment
for employers, as well as in negotiating highly favorable settlements
early in litigation or with dispositive motions pending. She has
extensive experience handling sensitive disputes involving workers with
disabilities. She also has significant experience defending unionized
and retail employers. Ms. Starr joins the firm from the employment law
department of Baker & Hostetler, an AmLaw 100 law firm, where she
handled complex single-plaintiff employment matters for major national
clients.
Ms. Starr earned her law degree from the University of Detroit in
1994, where she received honors in trial advocacy and moot court. While
attending law school, Ms. Starr served as an extern clerk for Michigan
Circuit Court Judge Fred M. Mester. She received her undergraduate
degree, with honors, from Eastern Michigan University, where she was a
member of the Honor Society and Dean’s List. Ms. Starr is a member of
the Labor and Employment Sections of the American Bar Association,
California Bar Association, and Los Angeles County Bar Association.
